It’s for adults aged between 40 and 74 who have not already been diagnosed with any one of those four conditions
If you are eligible for a Healthy Heart Check, you will be invited for a check once every five years. Alternatively, you can make an appointment at your convenience. The check will take around 20-30 minutes:
- You’ll be asked some simple questions about your family history and lifestyle
- Your height, weight and waist measurement will be recorded
- Your blood pressure and pulse will be taken
- A blood test will check your cholesterol level and blood sugars.
You will be given a full explanation of your results and the opportunity to discuss these with a healthcare professional.
